Boston Celtics trade rumors: C's asked about Blake Griffin but nothing happened?

It looks like Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin is still a hot topic in the trade rumor mill and now, the Boston Celtics are one of the teams in the National Basketball Association (NBA) that asked about the former All-Star.

The Clippers and head coach Doc Rivers already stated that Griffin is not going anywhere with the Feb. 18 trade deadline nearing.

However, teams in the NBA are continually being linked to the currently sidelined Griffin who is coming off a controversial incident that is the major reason why he is rumored to leave Lob City.

According to the Boston Herald, the Celtics called the Clippers and inquired about Griffin's availability this trade period.

But the report added that like previous talks regarding Griffin or any trade rumor, nothing significant was accomplished.

Griffin should be removed from trade talks and rumors with the Clippers really expected to keep him, not making a big deal of the off-court incident that gave him a hand injury.

Meanwhile, the young and thriving Celtics, despite appearing to actively seek for potential deals, are likely not engaging in a blockbuster switch that will force them to let go of budding players.

In the report by the Boston Herald, Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said before they want to improve the team both for the short- and long-term, without "wrecking" their future.

The C's might acquire a player to have a minor tweak in the roster but that is it, anything that requires parting ways with their young and rising players is not going to happen.

This season may have marked the end of Boston's rebuilding since it is contending in the Eastern Conference and is at the third spot at 32–23, just 7.5 games behind the leading Cleveland Cavaliers, whom they already beat.
