UFC Ronda Rousey rumors 2015: UFC fighter confident she could beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a fight

The war of words between No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Ultimate Fighting Championship Women's Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is yet to have a conclusion; and Rousey added another chapter in an Ask Me Anything chat on Reddit.

Rousey, who is regarded as the best women's mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter in the world, was asked if she can beat Mayweather in a no rules fight and she had a well-explained answer.

"Floyd is one of the best boxers of all time. He would definitely beat me in a boxing match. I unfortunately don't get into 'matches.' I fight for a living. In a no rules fight, I believe I can beat anyone on this planet," the 28-year-old MMA star said.

Rousey continued, "Boxing is a sweet science with strict rules that I respect very much and aspire every day to improve at. But you said ruleless fight, and that's my honest answer."

The issue between Rousey and Mayweather began last year when Mayweather was asked what he can say about Rousey, the 38-year-old boxer then addressed the UFC women's champion as a "he."

Then after Rousey won the ESPY for the Best Fighter of the Year this 2015, an award in which Mayweather was a nominee, she fired a verbal jab at the unbeaten welterweight champion saying, "I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once. I'd like to see him pretend to not know who I am now."

Rousey later revealed that she waited for a year to address Mayweather and get back at him for pretending that he did not know her.

In the press conference for his fight against Andre Berto, Mayweather apologized to Rousey but still had words for the UFC fighter in his appearance on SportsCenter.

Mayweather said he is yet to see an MMA fighter or another boxer make more than $300 million in 36 minutes and if Rousey could do that, then she could give him a call.
