Since the release of "Call of Duty: WW2" just last November, it has been well-received by the fans of the franchise. Within a short amount of time, it is getting its first downloadable content (DLC) pack, titled "The Resistance," that adds new maps, a new mode, and a new Nazi zombie chapter.

There are three new maps that players will get once they buy the DLC: Anthropoid, Occupation, and Valkyrie. As the game is aptly based on the historical events of the World War II, history-savvy fans would recognize the Anthropoid. This map is based on the Operation Anthropoid of 1942, where there was an attempt to assassinate two high-ranking Nazi officials. As an assassination-themed map, there are long paths perfect for flanking, and thus for snipers as well.

Occupation, on the other hand, is actually just a remake of the Resistance map from "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3." Like the original, it will offer mostly crowded spaces for close-quarters combat. Lastly, Valkyrie is actually inspired by an actual place: Hitler's Eastern Front HeadQuarters (HQ), which was also known as The Wolf's Lair.

"The Resistance's" exclusive new mode is called the Operation Intercept. Players in this mode will be boarding a train where they will need to rescue their fellow members of the resistance. Doing so, players will have to, as the name already implies, not only intercept the hostages but also intercept the Nazi's communication in the train.

As for the new Nazi zombie chapter, "The Darkest Shore," players will get to fight against the zombies, which are not exactly new to fans of the "Call of Duty" franchise. The story goes that Doktor Straub is conducting experiments on an island, which explains why the island is now inhabited by Undead Nazi soldiers.

"The Resistance" DLC does not have an exact date set for a release yet. However, it is assumed that it will be unveiled early next year, possibly nearly the same time as its debut on the PlayStation 4 by Jan. 30. Fans can read more about the DLC from Activision's website.
