Electronics company Sony just introduced a projector priced at $30,000. Reports say that the projector can beam 4K resolution images that can stretch up to 120 inches without loss of fidelity.

Called the 4K Ultra Short Throw Projector (model number LSPX-A1), the Sony projector was first showcased at this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held at Las Vegas, Nevada.

For optimal projection, the device needs to sit 9.6 inches away from the wall where the images would be projected. This distance, as mentioned, will yield 4K images and videos stretching up to 120 inches. The maximum brightness of the 4K Ultra Short Throw Projector can reach up to 2500 lumens.

Of course, the projector is compatible with a number of devices that transmit 4K content. This includes the Apple TV 4K and the Roku Ultra. Sony's "unique 4K SXRD projection and HDR technology" will work with these devices and many others like them to deliver a 4K experience "with unprecedented detail, color and contrast."

The Sony 4K Ultra Short Throw Projector offers more than image an video support. It also comes with what Sony dubbed as "Glass Speakers." This hardware can project 360-degree sound. It has two tweeters, three midrange speakers, and a separated subwoofer to deliver deep bass.

Another good thing about Sony's new projector is that it was designed to look like a piece of furniture and not like a projector. The design will not stand out against most living room environments, and the back panel has a cover that can hide most wiring connections sensibly and efficiently.

Lastly, it comes with a remote control with a "minimal" design in mind.

The $30,000 Sony projector will be available next spring.

The CES 2018 is a show held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada. Product showcases featuring technological advancements in different fields of electronics are a main part of the show.
