Chicago Bulls Rumors: Derrick Rose unsure to return before season ends

Derrick Rose is said to be progressing rapidly and if he so chooses, he could be back in uniform before the regular season ends. Rose underwent a meniscus surgery last February and his road to recovery is reportedly coming along smoothly.

Could we see Rose returning to active duty with the Chicago Bulls soon?

The scenario is something similar to the past years but this time, Rose is non-committal. For a player who has undergone three knee surgeries, Rose may have learned by now that rushing himself has become disastrous.

Rose has tried two comebacks already and each time he reaches a point where he would stumble and go under the knife. Despite the good news of his recovery, the earliest time that Rose could come back would best be in the NBA playoffs.

The Bulls have already clinched a playoff berth (40-36) and his addition could be a welcome one considering coach Tim Thibodeau has had to make necessary adjustments for the Bulls to keep their heads above water.

For Rose, his return to competitive ball would need extended consideration. With a practically fragile knee, another major injury could spell disaster if not keep him sidelined permanently. Rose has been known for his speed and twisting moves and his sturdiness (especially his knees) may not be as they were before.

A seen benefit, should he return in the regular season, is to hone him up for the more crucial stage known as the NBA playoffs. Having Rose activated by the time the Bulls are already in the next stages could become useless due to familiarity issues.

For sure, the Bulls and Derrick Rose are exploring the possibilities. Will Rose return in the regular season? Will it be in the NBA playoffs? Or will he pass again this year so that his knees will be 100% capable of withstanding the rigorous battles on the hardwood.

Rose is non-committal for now but the best bet could be seeing him sit out the season and prime himself for the next NBA season.
