The Rams no doubt will be targeting the Cleveland Browns defense today, and in particular a run defense that currently ranks as the worst in the league. However, the irony of that situation is that the Rams themselves have the NFL's worst offense so far this season, making an interesting match up.

Prior to St Louis' bye week last week, Todd Gurley put in two fantastic performances on the road. Today the running back gets the chance to make his first home start, and he will be hoping to become the Rams' third running back to pass 140 yards in rushing for three straight games (following Eric Dickerson in the early 80's and Marshall Faulk more than a decade ago in 2002).

Prior to the game Gurley has said, "It's definitely coming along pretty well. Like I said, just the repetition, getting the reps, getting used to it, watching film, seeing how other teams are going to play the outside zone."

He will relish targeting the league's worst run defense; the Browns have allowed an average of 149.8 yards on the ground per game so far this season, and last week gave up 152 yards on rush in their 23-26 loss to the Denver Broncos.

Earlier this week on Thursday Night Football, the Seattle Seahawks destroyed the San Francisco 49ers 20-3 as they shut down the 49ers' offense to great affect.

San Francisco were not even able to get onto the scoreboard until the second half, and when they did it would be a solitary field goal effort in the third quarter.

That result gave the Seahawks their fourth straight win over the 49ers, and it will have pleased them to dump San Francisco down to the depths of 2-5, effectively ending any lingering thoughts that the 49ers had of being able to make the Playoffs.

The Seahawks have been gaining a reputation for having fourth quarter collapses this season, and that has undermined their efforts for their division race. But there was to be no repeat of those collapses on Thursday, as they gained their first road win in four attempts to go 3-4 and within touching distance of a more mediocre .500 record.

On Thursday Night Football, quarterback Russell Wilson completed 10 of his first 12 passes to impose himself on the game, and finished the game with 235 yards passing. However, he was also alarmingly sacked five times as his team failed to give him adequate protection.

Marshawn Lynch scored a spectacular touchdown, jumping the pile for a one yard score, and overall ran for 122 yards, although the most memorable moment for many about Lynch's performance on Thursday may have been when he vomited on the sidelines in the first half.
