Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies release on Oct. 7.Steam

The beta version of "Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies" was cut short due to some problems that have arisen. The official version of the game will be released on Oct. 7.

Game developer Nexon announced via their Steam page that the open beta version for the players has officially ended.

"Problems came up, and we're not going to pretend they weren't frustrating, but discovering these issues now can help create a smoother launch of Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies. We prepared lots of rewards for newcomers and welcome back packages for all those who supported us during the OBT," Nexon says.

Early this week, the game developer presented gamers with a short open beta so they could try the game. The open beta could be played by those who have Steam accounts.

Players who logged in and played the game were rewarded with guns and medkits.  The tools needed to craft weapons could be unlocked by logging in. Nexon stressed that the guns could not be purchased in the shop. Weapons needed to be crafted using the items gathered or purchased in the game. However, all of the weapons of the original game were accessible from the start, and would be saved in players' inventories.

The "Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies" was announced early last month. The game is a product of Nexon and Valve, and was built based on Nexon's "Counter-Strike Online" game in Asia, "Zombies." The game also features standard "Counter-Strike" modes and new, zombie-themed modes for PvP and PvE-style action.

Meanwhile, "Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies" will be launched on Oct. 7. The free-to-play shooter is the western version of Korea's "Counter-Strike Online 2" and will be released in Europe, North America, Oceania, and the CIS region. The new "Counter Strike" game can be played in computer units with low system specs - 2.13 GHz Celeron, 512 MB RAM, and GeForce 4 TI 4200.
