In the next episode of "Criminal Minds," the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) led by Agent David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) investigates several brutal casualties in Central Park.

The trailer and promotional photos for the upcoming installment, which is titled "Bad Moon on the Rise," were just recently released, and they show the team preparing for their trip to New York's famous Central Park.

Apparently, there have been several casualties of a brutal nature in that location. Upon arriving at the crime scene, Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster) immediately surveys the area and inspects it for any wayward clues. Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) analyzes the victim's body for any marks that may help in the investigation. The brutal signs lead all them to believe that the killer may be mimicking the nature of a wild animal to murder its victims.

"Our unsub thinks he's a werewolf," Dr. Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler) says to the team. The deranged murderer thinks he is some type of animal that lurks in the woods. Rossi remarks that if that is the case, then the whole city is in danger.

Later, they are able to track down the animalistic killer in the park and try to corner it. However, the unsub may prove to be quite dangerous since it has the instincts of a ferocious animal.

In the last episode, the team investigated the attempted murder of Trish Gaines (Myndy Crist), which they initially thought was perpetrated by her husband Steve (Ben Browder). However, they discovered that it was by Michelle Gorman (Kathryn Winslow), who wanted to protect her illegal drug business from getting exposed by Trish's husband, who happened to be the town's Police Chief. Gorman was apprehended in the end.

"Criminal Minds" season 13 episode 12 will hit the airwaves on Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 10 p.m. EST on CBS
