D.C. megastorm a warning from God? Prophecy watcher links 'Snow-pocalypse' to Obama's Mideast moves
Could megastorm Jonas, which some people is calling "Snow-pocalypse," be a sign or a reminder from God that America is heading in the wrong direction?
As Washington D.C. braces for the megastorm this weekend, book author Bill Koenig sees biblical significance in both the name of the blizzard and its timing, WND reported.
"The name Jonas means 'gift of God,'" says Koenig, author of the 2004 book, "Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel."
Koenig sees the stormy ties between Israel, which the Bible says is "the apple of God's eye," and the administration of U.S. President Barack Obama as relevant to the timing and magnitude of the storm.
"Obama heralded the Iran deal Saturday, Jan. 16, from the White House as a major foreign policy achievement, which now releases billions of dollars to the number one state sponsor of terror in the world and Israel's greatest threat," Koenig told WND.
Later, Secretary of State John Kerry admitted that Iran will use at least some of the $100 billion in aid sent by the U.S. this week to support terrorism.
Days before the Iran nuclear deal was finalised, Tehran announced the successful firing of nuclear-capable missiles, which is a direct violation of the U.N. Security Council resolution.
"This puts Israel and every Sunni country in the Middle East at risk of survival," Koenig points out.
But instead of assuring Israel of U.S. protection, the Obama administration even publicly castigated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for continuing to build new communities for Jews in Israeli-controlled territories, the book author says.
In researching for his book, Koenig says he found that "when the U.S. or another nation applies pressure on Israel to divide its covenant land, given by God to Abraham and his descendants, there are enormous record-setting storms and/or events that correspond."
He cites the following examples: The Perfect Storm, the terror events at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001, Hurricane Katrina and 85 other record-setting events since the Madrid "land for peace" Conference convened in late October 1991.
"When we put pressure on Israel to divide their land, we have enormous, record-setting events, often within 24 hours," Koenig says. "Hurricane Katrina, 9/11 – we have experienced over 90 record-setting, all-time events as we have acted against Israel. And the greater the pressure on Israel to 'cooperate,' the greater the catastrophe."
The so-called "Perfect Storm" of 1991 devastated the New England coast as President George H.W. Bush co-sponsored the Madrid Conference from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1, Koenig notes.
At the conference, Bush departed from President Reagan's pro-Israel policies in his attempt to craft an Arab-Israeli "peace" accord that included recognising a Palestinian "right" to biblically Jewish lands.
But while Bush was in Spain advocating a division of Israel, the "Perfect Storm" lashed the U.S. eastern seaboard.
"The Perfect Storm sent 30-foot ocean waves into Bush's Kennebunkport home as he was calling on Israel to give up the West Bank (Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem)," Koenig told WND.
That storm was blamed for 13 deaths and over $200 million in damages, including those in Bush's vacation home.
Koenig also points out how three of the four largest tornado outbreaks in U.S. history also followed similar developments when Israel felt squeezed by American leaders.
"People say they want peace," Koenig said, "but it all comes down to this: No earthly leader has the right to partition Israel, because that was God's gift to Abraham and his descendants."
