The dark days are over for the Dallas Cowboys, at least for now, as franchise quarterback Tony Romo returned and led them to a 24–14 victory over the Miami Dolphins last Sunday to end a seven-game losing skid. 

Sunday's game was the first time Romo played since suffering a broken collarbone in a win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2. 

In Romo's absence, Dallas had two starting quarterbacks in Brandon Weeden and the veteran Matt Cassel but nothing good happened. 

But in his return, Romo lit the Dolphins having 18 of 28 completions for 227 yards and two touchdowns, although he also threw two interceptions and was sacked twice. 

Despite the errors, the 35-year-old star quarterback's performance is still a good one, considering the fact that he missed seven weeks of action and was only having light practices in the past few weeks. 

"Winning, is going to put a little more pep in everyone's step," Romo said following the win over Miami, according to ESPN. 

The four-time Pro Bowler also stated that he felt more comfortable as the game progressed. 

Romo connected with wide receiver Terrence Williams in the second quarter for his first touchdown pass (31 yards). 

In the fourth quarter, Dallas' main passer found wide receiver Dez Bryant for his second touchdown pass (16 yards) which also gave the Cowboys a 10-point lead.

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett was impressed with Romo and said, according to ESPN, "He's a damned good player. He has been for a long time."

It is a good start for Romo and the Cowboys who are still sitting on the last spot in the National Football Conference (NFC) East with a 3–7 record. 

Leading the division are the New York Giants with a 5–5 record, followed by the Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles, respectively, as both have 4–6 records. 

The Cowboys will have a chance to better their standing but are up against a very tall task as they are set to take on the unbeaten Carolina Panthers (10–0) this Thursday for Week 12 action.
