The Dallas Cowboys finally reached an agreement with defensive end Jeremy Mincey who did not attend the opening of their training camp and was holding out until Sunday as he was looking for a new deal.

Mincey was set to earn $1.5 million for the upcoming 2015 season and decided not to attend training camp despite the Cowboys stating that he will be fined $30,000 for each day he misses camp.

But that was all settled as the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Sunday that the Cowboys decided to give Mincey a raise worth $500,000 along with the $1.5 million he is set to make this 2015 season.

"It's good to have him here – it was a good conversation. We'll see how he's doing. He has to pass a physical and we'll ease him into practice," Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said according to the Cowboys' website.

Garrett added, "I think Jeremy has been a good player in this league for a number of years. He's physically tough, and he plays hard. You want that on your football team."

He also said that Mincey was a huge part of the way they played great defense last season which helped them finish with a 12-4 record, reaching the second round of the playoffs before getting eliminated by the Green Bay Packers. 

Mincey, who reported to camp Sunday, was signed to a two-year deal worth $3 million by the Cowboys as a free agent from the Jacksonville Jaguars last offseason.

The 31-year-old player tallied a total of six sacks in 16 regular season games in the 2014 season to lead the Cowboys and added two more sacks in two playoff appearances. 

"We came to fair grounds. Everything's in place and I'm just trying to be the best Dallas Cowboy I can be," Mincey said Sunday after the agreement between him and the Cowboys was reached, according to NFL.com.
