Last season was obviously the worst for Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant, and it seems like that will not be the end of it as rumors keep circulating about his imminent exit from the team.

Many are now convinced that, although no confirmations have been made yet, Bryant will not be returning to the Cowboys next season mainly for his bloated salary and his ego problems. Some speculate that it would not take long before he takes his jersey off for good.

Colin Cowherd, a sports media analyst and talk show host, said in his podcast, "The Herd," that Bryant did not do anything to influence games he played with the Cowboys this year. Cowherd argues that the former star wide receiver can no longer perform like he used to and is only being a hurdle for the team.

"Dez Bryant did not have a very good year for the Dallas Cowboys. Had a lot of drops. He can no longer separate. I think he wears out Dak Prescott. And it was supposed to be a big year, right? Zeke got suspended meaning they needed him. Jason Witten's old, they needed him. Backup running backs, they needed him. Left tackle got hurt, they needed him. He averaged 12 yards a catch -- 54th in the NFL. He had six touchdowns, not even top 25. Less than 850 receiving yards and less than 70 catches. It should've been a great year for him building that relationship with Dak. Instead this weekend he was interviewed and was all in, Dez is on Dez," he said on his podcast.

Cowherd also indicated that the 29-year-old player can no longer do his job as a wide receiver, failing to separate. He also added that the Cowboys should "create a separation of their own" and get rid of Bryant in order to build the next great team for the Cowboys.

"Here's one thing I know about Dez Bryant: As a wide receiver he can no longer separate. It's time for the Cowboys to create some separation of their own and get rid of this clown. It's time to build the next great Cowboys team," Cowherd emphasized.

Further fueling this speculation is the Dallas Cowboys' failure to schedule meetings with Bryant, regarding his contract. According to other reports, the Cowboys are currently in a predicament when it comes to Bryant's $16.5 million salary cap, which they can either pay or offer the player a price cut.

In addition to this, in an interview with ESPN, Jason Garrett, head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, said that there have been no talks or meetings that aim to discuss the future of several players currently signed with the team.

"We had a wrap-up meeting at the end of the season, almost reviewing what happened last year, and we'll have some more meetings starting this week, and then once we get back to Dallas about the specific roles for each of our players going forward," Garrett admitted.

Other reports add that one of the things that may have caused the team's reluctance to get into talks with Bryant is his underwhelming performance last year, which is likely caused by his injuries during 2015 and 2016 -- taking their toll.

As of present time, there have been no official announcement and confirmations regarding Bryant's fate inside the Cowboys. Fans should take this speculations and rumors with a grain of salt until further announcements indicate it to be true.
