Popular survival zombie game "DayZ" has always been on the PC via Steam's Early Access for many many years. It was already confirmed to be arriving in consoles previously but news about it has been quiet since then. That is, until recently, when the developers tweeted that an Xbox One version is coming this year.

"Xbox One version is 100% coming at some point this year," reads the tweet from DayZ Development. "We're still not sure about a PS4 release date, but we'll also release that eventually, just maybe not this year." Note, however, that it will be via the Xbox One's Game Preview, which is their version of an Early Access.

This is not quite surprising given "DayZ" has not actually gotten an official release outside of Early Access. PlayStation 4 (PS4) does not feature any program similar to Steam's Early Access or Xbox's Game Preview, which makes players on this platform unable to get the game. It may be safe to say that the PS4 version will come out when the game actually gets an official complete release.

"DayZ" was a huge hit when it first came out years ago. The gameplay revolves around the survival aspect, giving players only one life. When they die, they have to start from scratch. That said, players will not only be up against zombies that may infect them but also from other people who may either be friends or foes.

The development team has a rough time improving the game especially with the game's creator, Dean Hall, leaving to create a new game studio. With all its technical issues, it is quite understandable that players favor more other popular games such as "PUBG" or "Fortnite."

While giving the game a 2018 release date on the Xbox One is quite a stretch, many suspect it should come out late this year.
