Patrick Wilson is ready for the bright future of DC movies, as the actor has expressed excitement for DC extended universe (DCEU) of film and television after being a part of the upcoming "Aquaman" movie.

Wilson will play the Ocean Master Orm, who is a villain in "Aquaman" and will be going up against Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) a.k.a. Aquaman. Wilson remains enthusiastic despite the rough start of the DCEU, with the most recent blunder being their biggest project "Justice League."

During his interview with Metro about his upcoming movie "The Commuter," Wilson brought up the backlash DCEU films have received, stating that he finds the confidence of the directors and everyone else involved to be inspiring.

He shared, "As they say, there are a lot of different ways to skin a cat. Or to make a movie and a franchise. I can only speak on behalf of being an actor and having a relationship with the directors. As a fan, I sit back and see the choices that they make for directors and they are very strong, focused, individual directors and that takes confidence. It easy to hire someone that is just a yes man. And they're certainly not, which is very exciting." His statement notably goes against the usual criticism that the producers and directors of the recent DCEU films have received.

So far, the only seemingly favorable DCEU movies are "Man of Steel" and "Wonder Woman," with the former being a hit or miss for some critics. This, however, gives Wilson confidence, since like the two, "Aquaman" is also a solo venture or origin story of superhero instead of a group of them, meaning that the focus and the attention to detail it might bring could be just as good as "Wonder Woman's."

Wilson, no stranger to superhero movies after his role as Nite Owl in Zack Snyder's 2009 film adaptation for "Watchmen," is positive that "Aquaman" will score big once it gets released, which is set to be Dec. 21, 2018 in theaters worldwide.
