Fan favorite characters from the first film — Blind Al (Leslie Uggams) and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) — have been confirmed to return to "Deadpool 2." Meanwhile, Josh Brolin bags the role of Cable in the upcoming sequel.

Fox recently confirmed the release date of "Deadpool 2," and according to reports, the return of the Merc with a Mouth will be in June 2018.

Although plot details and the big bad of "Deadpool 2" have yet to be revealed, fans can expect to see the return of two favorite characters from the first film.

Uggams confirmed with Blackfilm that her character Blind Al, the visually disabled old lady that Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) lived with in the first film, will be returning to "Deadpool 2." The other returning fan favorite is Negasonic Teenage Warhead.

In an interview with Screenrant, Hildebrand shared that she has not yet gone over the script for her character, but teases that Negasonic Teenage Warhead will be older and cooler.

"I think it's cool that she's grown and matured and she still has so much of this essence of a punk kid," Hildebrand said.

Meanwhile, the search for the actor to play Cable is finally over.

Brolin, who also plays Thanos in "Guardians of the Galaxy," has nabbed the role of Cable to portray opposite Reynold's Deadpool. Details of Cable's appearance have yet to be revealed.

However, Cable will not be the only new ally the Merc with a Mouth will have in "Deadpool 2." Domino will also be introduced in the sequel, to be portrayed by Zazie Beetz.

With three "X-Men" characters appearing in "Deadpool 2," it appears that Wade Wilson will be persuaded to join the mutant union. It could also mean that Deadpool will be enlisting the help of Domino, Cable, and Negasonic Teenage Warhead on their next villain in the film.

"Deadpool 2" is slated to premiere on June 1, 2018.
