'Deadpool 2' release date news: Trailer arriving on Valentine's Day with 'Black Panther'

Those who have been waiting for the first full-length trailer of "Deadpool 2" are getting it on Valentine's Day.

Collider reveals that the footage will be attached to Marvel's upcoming "Black Panther" on Feb. 16 but will arrive earlier online on the 14th to commemorate the two-year anniversary of The Merc With a Mouth's original solo film's opening weekend.

Originally scheduled for release on June 1, "Deadpool 2" was moved up two weeks by 20th Century Fox recently in a series of shake-ups that also saw "The New Mutants" delayed 10 months and "Gambit" 6 months. So far, fans have seen a Bob Ross-inspired teaser, a poster, and a special issue of Good Housekeeping. With just four months remaining until its premiere, it is about time for Fox to drop the official trailer that would give a closer look at Josh Brolin's Cable and, hopefully, the first one at Zazie Beetz's Domino.

As for what else can be seen from next month's reveal is unclear, but chances are there will also be a clue about the sequel's subtitle. Rumor has it that the second installment would be released as "The Second Coming." This subtitle comes from the Michael Angelo-inspired "Deadpool 2" poster Ryan Reynolds himself shared on Twitter last month.

Plot-wise, there is not much known about the movie. Although Fox has released its official synopsis, it seems to tell little about the plot. Here is what it says:

"After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry's hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor - finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World's Best Lover."

The studio did confirm that "Deadpool 2" will include returning characters Colossus (voiced by Stefan Kapicic) and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand). T. J. Miller is also returning as Weasel. Other cast members include Julian Dennison, Jack Kesy, Leslie Uggams, and Karan Soni.

Directed by David Leitch, "Deadpool 2" opens in cinemas on May 18.
