20th Century Fox is currently looking for the ideal actress who will star opposite Ryan Reynolds in the upcoming movie adaptation of Marvel's "Deadpool."

Deadline broke the news saying that the film studio called six actresses for test deals to try out for the role, including Sarah Greene from "Vikings," Morena Baccarin from "Homeland," Crystal Reed from "Teen Wolf," "Orange Is the New Black" star Taylor Schilling, Rebecca Rittenhouse from "Red Band Society," as well as Jessica De Gouw of "Arrow" fame.

Den of Geek pointed out in one of its articles that Deadpool, also known as Wade Wilson, was involved with 11 women before settling down with Shiklah, Dracula's former bride. Some of the Marvel anti-hero's former flames include the Mystique-like comic book character Copycat, the tame and sweet girl named Siryn, and a formidable female named Anastasia. He was also involved with Death for a time.

Although the shortlisted names of actresses tapped to join Reynolds in the film have been revealed, there is no information yet about what roles would be filled, or who among them will be chosen as the final lead actress.

Out of all the most recognizable names on the list is Morena Baccarin, who has been a regular fixture in several TV shows since the beginning of 2000. She earned an Emmy nod for her role as a former prisoner of war in the hit Showtime series "Homeland" back in 2013.

Sarah Greene is also a critically acclaimed actress, after being nominated for a Tony award for her portrayal as Helen McCormick in the theater production of "The Cripple of Inishmaan." Rebecca Rittenhouse may not be a household name at the moment, but her portrayal of Nurse Dobler's role in "Red Band Society" made a mark to the viewers of the show.

"Teen Wolf's" Crystal Reed may be perfect in portraying a tough character since she is already familiar with the demands of such roles. On the other hand, Jessica De Gouw is also ideal to portray these kinds of roles since she had already played The Huntress in "Arrow." However, Taylor Schilling could be one of the most ideal actresses to play the role of a super heroine, after appearing as Christine in "Argo."

"Deadpool" is scheduled to premiere in February 2016.
