'Deadpool' movie heads to San Diego Comic-Con 2015

Fans can expect to see Wade Wilson and all his greatness in San Diego, as actor Ryan Reynolds confirmed via his Twitter account that his upcoming superhero film "Deadpool" will join the festivities at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con.

The actor first announced Wednesday that Deadpool will be at the SDCC when he posted a funny image of his character wearing a poncho and sombrero under the heat of the sun as he tries to hitchhike his way to California.

Most recently, Reynolds posted the special Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con Bonus edition where Marvel's infamous anti-hero is featured on the cover. He wrote a caption with that post saying, "If you see a guy roaming #SDCC whose cosplay is on point. Cuddle him. Hard."

Reynolds earlier confirmed his excitement for his Comic-Con appearance this year.

In an interview published in Collider, the actor said: "Yeah, I am ready to go. I'm really excited about it actually. I've only been there once and it's mayhem, but, you know, we're coming in with a ton of goodwill and a truly great film so I'm really happy about that."

Although there is no exact information about what 20th Century Fox will present for "Deadpool," participants of the annual multi-genre entertainment convention are expecting to learn more about the movie during its scheduled panel on Saturday, July 11, from 5:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. PT.

While Reynold's masked character had been constantly featured in different media, the other characters in the movie are relatively hidden from the limelight until EW featured new, never-before-seen images from the film.

In the new set of photos, Deadpool's loyal friend Weasel (TJ Miller), shape-shifter Vanessa Carlysle/ Copycat (Morena Baccarin), mutant Angel Dust (Gina Carano), Deadpool's sidekick Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), and the main antagonist Ajax (Ed Skrein) were with Deadpool on the set.

One of the photos features Reynolds out of his Deadpool signature red-and-black costume, portraying his alter-ego Wade Wilson while having a serious talk with Baccarin's Vanessa. There is also a photo showing Angel Dust as she torments and strangles Weasel.

"Deadpool" is slated for release on Feb. 12, 2016.
