Not long after Dell refreshed its XPS 13 laptop last year, the company has revealed that a new version is coming up very soon. The new and improved Dell XPS 13, which has noticeably become lighter and thinner than ever, will feature incredible boost in performance thanks to Intel's 8th-generation Core processor. Upon its anticipated launch at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) next week, the premium laptop will also boast 4K display with the model's signature InfinityEdge screen configuration.

As reported by CNET, the 2018 Dell XPS 13 laptop will highlight 4K UHD monitors for the top-tier model. There are also regular versions of the laptop with either a full HD touchscreen or a full HD non-touch display. Nevertheless, all of the new XPS 13 models will have a maximum brightness of 400 nits. Dell also revealed that the 4K UHD variant of XPS 13 2018 will get up to 100 percent sRGB color gamut at 400 nits, as the company has already solved the issue about color shifting at max brightness.

The new Dell XPS 13 laptop will sport a more immersive InfinityEdge display with 80.7 percent screen-to-body. The laptop is 24 percent smaller in volume compared to the previous XPS 13 model, due to the slimmer 4mm border around the almost all-screen display. With this, the 2018 XPS 13 will be the world's smallest 13.3-inch laptop, snatching the record from its 2017 predecessor, according to The Verge.

Meanwhile, the core specs of the 2018 Dell XPS 13 laptop include a jump to Intel 8th-gen processor. The public can choose between a Core i5 or i7 processor, as well as RAM and built-in storage ranging from 4 to 16GB, and 128GB to 1TB, respectively. Aside from the more powerful nex-gen Intel chip, the new XPS 13 model will boast a faster performance due to a new cooling system.

The upcoming Dell XPS 13 laptop will be available in its new white-and-gold color option, and it will have a stain-resistant coating. The model will also include three additional USB-C ports. More details will be announced next week as Dell officially unveils the laptop at the CES 2018.
