Fans have been patiently waiting for the first expansion pack for "Destiny 2." At last, the long wait is over as Bungie revealed the release date of "Curse of Osiris" downloadable content (DLC). The extended content will be available on Dec. 5, and to further fill the public with anticipation, the game studio released a new trailer featuring a voyage to Mercury.

As reported by Engadget, Bungie unveiled a trailer for "Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris" that showed the troops making a return to Mercury. To note, the first "Destiny" game already covered the location, but the sequel's expansion pack is set to reveal an untold story surrounding the planet and Osiris, a former member of the Vanguard. This time around, the players will have to work with Osiris in order to stop the Vex from opening a portal. Once it is opened, a huge army that can change the entire universe will be set free.

The latest "Destiny 2: Cure of Osiris" DLC trailer gives a closer look at Mercury, perhaps even more than what the vanilla "Destiny" sequel has ever shown. Based on the teaser, players will learn more about Osiris, a character that was only mentioned in the "Trials of Osiris" game mode.

Meanwhile, "Destiny 2" players have been speculating for a while regarding the new content to be introduced by "Curse of Osiris" DLC. Aside from the teaser videos, Bungie has only revealed a little information about the upcoming expansion. Nevertheless, fans have gotten a hint based on the recent promotional materials, specifically the return of the exotic hand cannon, Thorn.

According to GameRant, the rumors are rife that "Curse of Osiris" DLC will mark Thorn's return to "Destiny 2." In fact, fans have noted that one scene in the trailer shows what could be the original game's signature hand cannon. However, there is a new angle in the rumored appearance of Thorn in "Curse of Osiris." With the use of high-resolution video capture and screenshots, some people argued that the weapon believed to be Thorn might be a different hand canon. A zoom-in photo revealed that there was actually a protrusion below the hand cannon, resembling a mini-bayonet more than Thorn.

There are no price details revealed as of now, but those who already purchased the "Destiny 2" Deluxe Edition with expansion pass are guaranteed to obtain the "Curse of Osiris" copy.
