Developer Bungie knows that "Destiny" is a big hit in the gaming community and fans are already looking forward to its sequel. However, no specific date is set for "Destiny 2," except it should arrive next year. Meanwhile, fans can look forward to another DLC pack for the original game, as a big one is expected to arrive this year.

It is now several months since "The Taken King" DLC rolled out for "Destiny," and many players seem to be enjoying the game, but sooner or later, players will be looking for new content. Bungie is ready for that.

It was earlier reported that a sequel, "Destiny 2," is expected to be released next year and the delicate process of game development must have started months back in order to meet the deadline. Games this big can take up to three years or maybe more in development.

Furthermore, to keep fans fully engaged with "Destiny," the company is scheduled to release the next expansion pack by September. It is speculated that it will be as big as "The Taken King" DLC.

According to Express, Eric Hirshberg, Activision Publishing's CEO, mentioned that "Engagement is remarkably strong even after the release of some competitive games in the genre. It's clear fans are hungry for more content than we have been able to create."

Hirshberg added, "That passion and loyalty from our fans is something that we don't take for granted. Which is why we're working side by side with Bungie to make sure that in the future, we're able to deliver a more consistent stream of great content and drive even more engagement."

Bungie also released a hotfix last week, which took care of the networking and gameplay issue that affected melee combat. The company also mentioned that no further download is needed since it was already installed during "Destiny's" last update.

"Destiny" is currently available for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
