It is already given that "Destiny 2" will arrive sometime in 2017. It is also known that the "Rise of Iron" DLC will arrive by September. Fans are now wondering what will happen from September until the sequel arrives. The answer is there will be more expansions to come out for "Destiny."

Game developer Bungie was at the recently concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016, and Chris Barrett , game director for "Rise of Iron" and Eric Osborne, the company's marketing director, sat down with Kotaku and shared some information.

Osborne said, "Wow, people are concerned, I mean we've been out 18 months. I think people talk about Destiny like it's been here for decades. Eighteen months, this is our fourth expansion. 40+ updates to the base game. I think the content pace is pretty normal... It's a nice problem to have that people want to know about more content."

Barrett said, "The idea is all of the above, right? So we want to get to a place where we can ship really great expansions like Rise of Iron and cool events like Festival of the Lost, and that's sort of the full library of stuff that we want to deliver. We want to keep more regular content for players," when asked if gamers can expect paid DLC or small-sized free updates or more live events.

However, The Bitbag added that fans should not expect something as big as the upcoming DLC or the previous "The Taken King," but something closer to the size of "House of Wolves" and "Dark Below" during the first year of the game. Additionally, free updates that include bug fixes and improvements will definitely arrive as well.

"Destiny" was originally launched in September 2014 and the developer has continuously expanded the game, hence players are staying on and many are joining as well.  The game is getting updates on a regular basis, especially patches and fixes, that make the game balanced and more enjoyable.

The upcoming "Rise of Iron" DLC will only be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
