'Destiny' update: Inferno Clash mode to return this week

Game of the Year awardee "Destiny" will be getting a new yet familiar battleground this week, as developer Bungie confirmed the return of the Inferno Clash to the Crucible, the game's six-on-six team-based multiplayer mode. 

Debuting first as a Control variant, the all-new Inferno Clash will feature some options that are already present in Inferno Control, but will have new and revamped features that will definitely make it a mainstay of the player versus player mode in the game. 

Most of the new features of the PvP mode make it more realistic. For instance, players have no radar on the top left corner of their heads up display that will identify a friend or a foe. The Heavy Ammo crates allotted are also controlled. Now, there is only one set of ammo crates per match. Both these new features will have gamers play less aggressively and more conservatively as they try to make each shot count, and to check each corner and make sure that every area is clear of enemy players. 

The scoring system in Inferno Clash is also made much simpler. The new mode now features less scoring events, and tallies are focused on enemy kills. Also, the points for kill assists have been removed. 

Meanwhile, the maps remain unchanged for the new Inferno Clash. There are still nine locations where the six players of opposing fire teams can duke it out. 

The new Inferno Clash is just one of the many changes Bungie hopes to initiate in the game to make it much more interesting to fans. Aside from these changes, there are also talks about an oncoming April patch that would drastically expand vault size dimensions, fixes for bugs found in Raid bosses Crota and Atheon, and Strike fixes.
