'Destiny' Bounty returns today

Bungie website

Previously, developer Bungie created challenges for players to complete in-game for the sci-fi futuristic shooter "Destiny." Now, the developer brought back the Bungie Bounty event, this time letting players compete with developers in the Sparrow Racing League.

According to an announcement on the official Bungie website, Bungie Bounty will be held Wednesday, Dec. 16 and will open for players for the PS4 at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Pacific. Bungie will run a livestream of the event on its official Twitch channel. For Guardians who will race against developers and other Bungie employees, there will be a special Emblem at stake, which will go to the Top Three finishers per race.

Meanwhile, gamers who are into "Destiny" on their Xbox One consoles will also have a chance to compete against the Bungie team themselves. Although the developer did not set a specific date on which it will be held, Bungie promised that the Bungie Bounty will also come for the Xbox One before the Sparrow Racing League ends.

The Sparrow Racing League is a limited-time event created by Bungie for "Destiny" players who want to race in-game using their Sparrows. The event is currently ongoing and slated to end on Dec. 29. However, Bungie recently announced that it already has long-term plans for theshooter title and indirectly teased that the Sparrow Racing League may come back in the future, or might even get extended to 2016.

Meanwhile, aside from Bungie Bounty, the developer also introduced other in-game events and items for Year Two of "Destiny." According to iDigitalTimes, European players spotted an addition of three new character boosts for each of the main classes of Guardians. The character boosts were seen on the PlayStation Network and the Xbox Store. However, there is no word yet on when the new character boosts will make to the North American versions of the game.
