'Destiny' Xur news: What items were on offer this past weekend?

The weekend is sadly over and with it another visit from Xur, the elusive vendor in "Destiny" who shows up every weekend to sell exotic wares. Now, it's time to recap what the mysterious vendor was offering to players.

Among some of the notable items on sale from Xur was the Celestial Nighthawk. According to iDigital Times, this helmet provided players with 280 defense. The Celestial Nighthawk also yielded a special ability that allowed players to acquire additional super energy after executing grenade kills and it also provided them with some added health whenever they stumbled upon and picked up an orb.

Another item of note from Xur was the Helm of Inmost Light. This helmet similarly provided 280 defense as well as the same special ability related to super energy and grenade kills. On top of that, the Helm of Inmost Light also gave "Destiny" players the Death from Above and Headstrong abilities as well as additional melee energy that came courtesy of orb kills.

Xur, of course, had plenty of other items on sale; unfortunately, the mysterious vendor is done for the weekend.

Those who want to catch up with Xur next week can begin looking for him late Friday night, although his location for the upcoming weekend remains a mystery for now.

In related news, it appears that there are some items that should have been released in "The Taken King" expansion that "Destiny" players have found to be incredibly rare.

According to Forbes, the incredibly rare items are all pieces of Exotic Armor.

It's unclear exactly why the pieces of armor have yet to be widely seen, although interestingly enough, each class in "Destiny" has three mostly missing items.

Some players believe that the supposedly rare items may soon be put on sale by Xur, although there is no clear indicator of that for now.

There's also a rumor that Bungie is simply hoarding the exotic items for now and may be making them available later on.
