As the release date for the next downloadable content (DLC) for "Destiny" nears, a new launch trailer goes live for the "Rise of Iron" expansion.

It is confirmed that the new expansion is scheduled to go live for global players next week. Meanwhile, ahead of the official release, a new launch trailer has been published online, confirming some of the new features of the game. There are also supposed leaks that showcase some of the new gameplay.

According to Mashable, one noted change that is coming with the "Rise of Iron" DLC is that it will be the first expansion pack to be exclusive to current-generation systems. This means players for the PS3 and Xbox 360 will not be able to access the upcoming DLC.

It is hinted that, starting with the upcoming DLC, new "Destiny" content will also focus on graphics and visual effects, aside from the story and gameplay. This is what the creative team has in mind, says Shi Kai "Shiek" Wang, the DLC's art director. The creative team member stated, "The snow stuff that [appears in the new Rise of Iron locations] is one of the things we kept pushing because we could do that."

Meanwhile, aside from the visual prowess, Bungie also made sure that the new DLC will add new and exciting content for "Destiny" players. As its description notes, "Rise of Iron" is expected to not just be an add-on, but a whole other story for the game that "features new weapons, armor, and gear, as well as a new cooperative three-player Strike, a new mode and maps for the Crucible competitive multiplayer, and an all new six-player cooperative Raid."

It is also noted that the new DLC introduces more expansive in-game events, with Bungie hinting that a large winter event is coming out soon.

"Rise of Iron" goes live on Sept. 20 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
