With a fanfare and dedicated Twitch channel to boot, publisher Square Enix has confirmed that there would be an installment to the futuristic role-playing title "Deus Ex: Human Revolution."

The sequel, "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided," continues the story of main protagonist Adam Jensen. The upcoming title is set in the year 2029, two years after the events in the previous "Deus Ex" title. Jensen now works as an investigator for an international organization tasked with bringing terrorists to justice.

In the game, he needs to track down the main suspect for a series of attacks, an organization called the Augmented Rights Coalition. The attacks progress because humanity is now divided into two large groups – those that have augmented parts and those that prefer to have natural bodies. Augmented humans are looked down upon and are forced to live in squalor, which riles up some elements.

Aside from the terrorist group, Jensen also digs deeper into the whole scenario, as he suspects that a larger force than a terrorist group is behind the attacks, and this evil force is also working in the shadows inside the organization that he works for.

In this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, some fans were shown a closed-door, hands-off demo with a development version of the game. The demos were in two parts: the first showed off a little preview of the story; while the second part provided a little bit of gameplay.

One of the most noted features of the first title was the character's ability to hack systems, and in the latest installment, the feature received an upgrade. Jensen can now hack from afar, enabling him to engage systems such as defense and target enemies without actually being connected to a node. In addition, the hacking sequence also underwent a visual upgrade, and now cuts into a 3D interface environment.
