One of Square Enix's famous sci-fi games, "Deus Ex" has been placed on hiatus earlier this year. With this news, many of its fans were led to think that game has been finally placed in its coffin, never to be seen again. However, Square Enix has a few words to say about that.

"We have never said anything about discontinuing that title but for some reason that's the rumor out on the market," said CEO Yosuke Matsuda in an interview via Gl.biz. "We have several big titles that we work with and that's partly a factor in what our line-up looks like. The reason there isn't a 'Deus Ex' right now is just a product of our development line-up because there are other titles we are working on."

That said, it is safe to say, at least, there have already been discussions about the new game. It just so happens that they are not exactly working on it right now. Matsuda also mentions about "Deus Ex" series game developer, Eidos Montreal. With Matsuda saying that they "do not have limitless resources," he may also have meant to say that Montreal is also busy with other projects at hand.

According to GameSpot, that new game, which is made in partnership with Marvel, is actually a new "Avengers" game. The news and the trailer came out earlier this year, both of which interestingly featured only parts of Marvel's heroes' gear: Thor's hammer, Iron Man's hand, and Captain America's shield.

As for "Deus Ex", Matsuda reassures its fans the game is a "very important franchise" for the company. Sadly, no other details about the new game were mentioned. There used to be big plans for the franchise with it having different games, as per Eurogamer. The rumor only started to spread because of how the latest "Deus Ex" game, entitled "Mankind Divided," did poorly for the company, supposedly leading to executives leave the series in the back burner.
