"Dissidia Final Fantasy" is coming back. According to RPG Site, Square Enix is co-developing a new title for arcades with Tecmo Koei's Team Ninja, developers of "Dead or Alive" and "Ninja Gaiden." The report states that the arcade cabinet will utilize modified PS4 hardware, lending to the possibility of a PS4 port later down the line.

The report says that Square Enix acknowledges the likelihood of "Dissidia Final Fantasy" arcade coming to the Playstation 4, especially since the arcade cabinet features a control scheme similar to the PS4 button lay-out, but the title will remain exclusively as an arcade game for at least a year before it gets ported to home consoles.

"Dissidia Final Fantasy" for arcades will retain the general premise of the PSP titles that came before it, with the characters from the "Final Fantasy" franchise facing off in a fighting game. The arcade edition sees the return of characters such as Cloud Strife from "Final Fantasy VII," Terra from "Final Fantasy VI," and the Warrior of Light from "Final Fantasy I."

One of the new characters to be introduced is fan-favorite Ramza Beoulve from "Final Fantasy Tactics." Ramza will be re-designed by notable game artist and director Tetsuya Nomura and will bear a similar design to the "Final Fantasy" characters in "Kingdom Hearts."

The game will also be constantly updated via online patches. Updates will include new music, equipment, new summons, and more characters. Square Enix is reportedly aiming to have a complete roster consisting of over 50 characters, nearly double the number of playable characters in the PSP original.

Ichiro Hazama ("Dissidia Final Fantasy," "Theatrhythm Final Fantasy") will be producing with Takeo Kujiraoka ("Dissidia Final Fantasy," "Final Fantasy XIII") directing. Score will be handled by Takeharu Ishimoto ("Crisis Core," "Final Fantasy Type-O,"), while Tetsuya Nomura ("Final Fantay VII," "Final Fantasy X") will be in charge of character designs.
