'Doctor Strange' spoilers: Doctor Strange and Baron Mordo start off as allies

Marvel's "Doctor Strange" has begun filming in Nepal and leaked photos of the cast on set reveal that Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and the villain Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) will begin first as allies and perhaps even as close friends before the situations turn things around, making them mortal enemies.

The first revealed photo leaked on Instagram shows Baron Mordo and Strange walking side by side in a local marketplace. The second was posted on Twitter and gives a better look at Baron Mordo.

It is speculated that Baron Mordo will be serving as Strange's senior mentor and guide as they both learn the ways from the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton).

In the Marvel comic books, Baron Mordo and Strange did become friends as they both became students of the Ancient One, although this changed when the Ancient One decided that Strange was the only one worthy of becoming the successor as the "sorcerer supreme." Angered, Baron Mordo swore revenge and became Strange's greatest foe.

According to a report from Cinema Blend, the images also reveal a bit more about Strange's story. The report cites that Strange looks to be in a lost state of mind, perhaps after a traumatic event that forever scarred him, and that he now seeks solace in Baron Mordo's guidance and friendship.

Strange, in the comic books, was once a famous surgeon until a car accident destroyed his hands and, despite several surgeries, he would never become a surgeon again. This changed when he met Baron Mordo and learned to be a sorcerer under the teaching of the Ancient One.

If the images are to show any indication of the film's plot, it is likely that "Doctor Strange" will follow this format as well in order to tell the origins of the titular hero.

"Doctor Strange" will continue to film in Nepal before it shifts to film the majority of the scenes in London. The film will then hit theaters on Nov. 4 2016.
