The first official "Dota 2" Major tournament will be taking place in Frankfurt, Germany.

Developer Valve Corporation has indicated that the first Major tournament will be running for six days. "Dota 2" fans will be glad to know that entrance to the first five days of the tournament will be for free, although they will have to get tickets if they also want to watch the finals.

The finals of the tournament will be taking place on Nov. 21.

Valve will be selling tickets for the finals of the Frankfurt tournament in two batches, with the first one sold at 5 a.m. on Sept. 27 and the rest made available later that day at 1 p.m., iDigital Times reported.

Players and teams looking to join the 16 team pool for the first "Dota 2" Major can qualify by either receiving a direct invite to join the tournament; gaining entry by winning the regional qualifiers; or by emerging victorious during the open qualifiers.

Teams that will be up for direct invites and entry into the regional qualifiers will be selected by Valve, while the open qualifiers, as the name suggests, are open to players capable and willing to compete on Oct. 1.

The teams that are assured of entry into the tournament will be revealed on Oct. 5, while the remaining players who will still be part of the qualifiers will be competing for their spots in Frankfurt from Oct. 6 to 13.

All of the players who will be officially part of the "Dota 2" Major in Frankfurt will be fighting for their share of the $3 million prize pool, although Valve has yet to announce how much of that will go to the eventual winners of the tournament.

The "Dota 2" Frankfurt Major is just the first of three official tournaments being hosted by Valve, according to IGN.

After the three Majors have concluded, players will converge yet again for the International Championships which will be taking place in the summer.
