Apple finally rolled out the OS X Yosemite last week alongside the release of the new generation of iPads.

The new OS X Yosemite works hand-in-hand with the latest iOS 8. For the first time, the wall between the iOS and OS X is broken, which enables the integration of Apple's desktops and laptops with its iPhone and iPad lines. The new desktop OS packs features such as AirDrop and iCloud Drive.

Free

One of the primary reasons why one should download the new OS X Yosemite is because it is completely free unlike the previous Mac OS.  Users do not have to purchase the desktop OS update to enjoy the new features that it brings.

Bug Free

Surprisingly, a lot of reviews claim that the new OS X 10.10 Yosemite is stable and bug free. The lack of bugs and issues is attributed to Apple's public beta rolled out this summer, which enabled the company to comb out more bugs than usual.

AirDrop

Apple improved the capabilities of AirDrop as it seamlessly connects OS X and iOS devices. Before, Apple allowed content transfer between devices with the same operating system only. For example, if one has an unfinished email on their desktop, they can complete it on their iPhone. Third party developers can also take advantage of this new feature for their apps.
