'Dragon Age: Inquisition' DLC cancelled for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3

"Dragon Age: Inquisition" will no longer offer support for new downloadable content (DLC) on both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

News of the change regarding the game's DLC was released by BioWare, the game's developer, on the official "Dragon Age" blog. According to the game's developer, all future DLC that will be released for the game will now be made available only on current-generation platforms such as the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and the PC.

Despite the news, players who have already begun their games on older consoles will still have the option of continuing their progress while still having access to any new DLC that may come in the future, according to Eurogamer.

As part of the new plans regarding DLC, BioWare is also set to introduce a new save exporting tool designed to help players move in their progress from the older consoles to the new ones. However, the tool will be limited to only allowing transfers for consoles from the same company, which effectively disqualifies any possibility to transfer save files from an older console to a PC.

The new tool will be part of Patch 8 set to be released for "Dragon Age: Inquisition" this July.

For players who are wary that the DLC they have already purchased for older consoles will not apply once they have transferred platforms, BioWare has already assured them that they would be receiving those packages for free once they would make the move.

BioWare has already announced that more DLC was still in the works for "Dragon Age: Inquisition," according to Gamespot. As of now though, the game's developer has not specified how many new DLC packages are still in the works. New DLC packages for "Dragon Age: Inquisition" are expected to include storyline additions to the game.

The third major game in the Dragon Age franchise, "Dragon Age: Inquisition" is the sequel to "Dragon Age: Origins" and "Dragon Age II." The game was released in November 2014 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
