After 18 years out of circulation, Dragon Ball Super will be back by July, 2015. This should be great news to Dragon Ball anime fans which will reportedly be set after Dragon Ball Z but before Dragon Ball GT.

Akira Toriyama will be returning to write the Dragon Ball Super anime series. Word has it that the new series will try to revolve on Goku who attempt to maintain world peace.

Something that fans should further welcome is that the new anime series will reportedly have over 100 episodes. And that is just for starters. Toei is said to be planning an additional 100 episode extension and this will most likely be their reserve if Dragon Ball Super does indeed become a hit.

This early, the plot of the new anime has been somehow teased. According to TV producer Osamu Nozaki, there will be an enemy even stronger than Buu or Freza who may appear. So for the Dragon Ball Z fanatics out there, it may be time to do the guessing game on who that could be.

The coming of Dragon Ball Super makes it the fourth animated series to be brought out. The first Dragon Ball Z series came out away back in 1989 and 1996 and was thereafter followed by Dragon Ball GT (1996-97)

Curiously Toriyama wasn't that involved with Dragon Ball GT. In fact, the series was made against his wishes. So it may be interesting to see how things pan out though there is word that Dragon Ball Super could very well be a sequel to Dragon Ball GT.

The planned release of Dragon Ball Super should be fitting for the franchise, considering the success of Dragon Ball Z: Revival of F. The film has broken previous records of the Dragon Ball Z series in just 19 days. Over in Japan it had even reportedly beat other movies currently showing, including the Furious 7.

So if you want more Dragon Ball Z love, just wait a couple of months more and see how Dragon Ball Super makes its grand return!
