Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announce second pregnancy
The Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant with her second child, it has been confirmed today.
Following weeks of rumours, Clarence House today released a statement saying the couple are "very pleased to annouce" that they are expecting, just over a year since the birth of Prince George.
The Queen and members of both familes are "delighted with the news," the statement continues.
Prime Minister David Cameron has already tweeted his congratulations to the royal couple.
"I'm delighted by the happy news that they're expecting another baby," he said.
The Duchess is said to be suffering from an acute form of morning sickness, as with her first pregnancy, and is receiving treatment from doctors at Kensington Palace.
She has pulled out of an engagement in Oxford today.
Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby has also issued his congratulations, and offered his prayers for the growing family.
Wonderful news that the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge are expecting second child. Praying for the family, and that morning sickness subsides.
