The world of gaming entices a lot of players with its ability to create a world that brings imagination into reality. Developer Piranha Bytes works on this concept, thus the creation of a science-fantasy realm dubbed as "Elex."

The game talks about a different world called Magalan, with a highly-advanced civilization that boasts over a billion population. The said community is a progressive one, until one fateful day when a meteor strikes and razes almost all signs of life. Those who survived try to live off the planet, and in the midst of all the chaos was an element called "Elex" that carries infinite possibilities. This then becomes the center of the conflict.

The new world is divided into four factions, with which the player will have to choose where his allegiance lies — Berserkers, Albs, Clerics, and Outlaws. Berserkers wield magical abilities in hopes to restore Magalan, Albs use the Elex to rid themselves of emotions in order to produce cold logic, Clerics wish to use the contested elements on their machines and technology, while the Outlaws take resources for themselves.

The player controls an Alb who is in the middle of the battling grounds. His behavior in the world will dictate the consequences, and the player will have to decide how he will go about dealing with the emotions he now feels after not being able to consume Elex for a long time.

Magalan is a world filled with infinite possibilities, and the ways to explore it are also varied. With the use of a jetpack, the player can roam across the lands to find allies or battle against enemies. His allegiance will also unlock various skills that are unique for each of the warring factions.

In other related news, German magazine Gamestar has ranked some of the top five weapons unique to the game. The weapons range from both long-range and short-range items, but the most noteworthy of them all is the saw blade, which deals massive damage after a few blows.

"Elex" will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms in 2017.
