Eminem new album 2016 release date: Rapper tied up with re-release of 'The Marshall Mathers LP'

Rapper Eminem hasn't shown signs of him releasing a brand new album this 2016, but he announced something else that is as big and as amazing a treat for his fans.

The rap god decided to reissue "The Marshall Mathers LP," one of his most memorable albums and certainly one which many believe is his greatest masterpiece, in celebration of the album's 16th anniversary.

"In 2013 we revisited my childhood home for the sequel and later had the opportunity to put together some once in a lifetime collectables created from the remains of what has become a very iconic symbol for me and my career. Do not miss out," Eminem teased on Instagram.

Along with the re-release of the iconic album, Eminem also sold pieces of the bricks and pieces of wood that used to be the very foundation of his childhood home in Detroit, which has been demolished for "structural safety issues."

The house was featured on the album cover of "The Marshall Mathers LP" and has become a representation of Eminem's career. There were 700 bricks from the iconic home that once stood in Dresden St. that went up for grabs, but they are all sold out.

As for the rumored new album set to be released by Eminem this year, there haven't been any concrete details about its release or development, although it is reported that the rapper is working on the songs right now.

It is very likely that if Eminem is amid the process of creating new album, he took a break from it first to deal with the demolition of his childhood home and to celebrate his 16-year-old "The Marshall Mathers LP" album.

Eminem hasn't been actively making music in the past months except for the soundtrack he made for Jake Gyllenhaal's boxing movie "Southpaw" and collaborations with some artists and friends.

As far as the Eminem 2016 album is concerned, it is looking like it will be a long wait before Eminem puts out one. For now, fans will have to turn their attention to the "The Marshall Mathers LP" re-release, which is still available and comes with a t-shirt and a dog tag made out of the wood from his Dresden home.
