The group stage of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) European Qualifiers continues this Saturday as England look to remain unbeaten and secure a spot at Euro 2016 by beating a familiar foe in San Marino. 

England is undefeated in their past six Group E matches with 18 points while San Marino has yet to garner a win, having only one point after a draw and five losses in their campaign. 

In five meetings between both nations, England scored 31 goals against only one from San Marino as tallied by The Independent. 

The match will be huge for England and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney scoring-wise.

Rooney currently has 48 goals for England tied with Gary Lineker; a goal against San Marino would level him with Sir Bobby Charlton who holds the scoring record with 49 goals and another one would make him the all-time scoring leader for the nation. 

England manager Roy Hodgson is confident the 29-year-old striker will be surpassing Charlton. 

"It is not something we talk about because it is obvious Wayne will break the goalscoring record," Hodgson said, according to BBC Sports. 

But he added, "At the moment his main concern is to win the remaining matches we have in qualifying. I won't mind if he doesn't score as long as we win them all."

Rooney is not in the best scoring form heading to the match against San Marino; he was in a long scoring drought before ending it late last month against Club Brugge. 

Despite his recent offensive struggle, it is likely that Rooney will net one this Saturday since England is averaging more than six goals a match against San Marino, according to The Independent. 

In their past three meetings against San Marino which were all qualifiers, England won 5–0 (October 2014), 8–0 (March 2013), and 5–0 (October 2012).
