England will play Sri Lanka in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 tournament on Sunday in a big game for both teams as they look to secure their places in the next round of the competition. England got off to a tough start to the tournament, facing two of the best teams in the competition right away. That resulted in them losing both of their opening games to Australia and New Zealand, giving them little room for more errors if they were to progress out of the group stages of the competition.

If England can win today it would move them close to qualifying for the next round, however, a loss would literally leave them with no more room for error in their remaining games against Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

England are not in good form overall coming into the World Cup, but also against Sri Lanka specifically, they have lost eight of their last 12 one day internationals against them.

Sri Lanka have less pressure on them, but they will be just as motivated to win this one, as a win would all but guarantee them a place in the next round.

If England are to win today they will have to do the job both with the bat and ball. In particular, Sri Lanka have Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene, who are the only two batsmen in the tournament to have scored more than 1,000 runs in World Cups. England must dispose of them cheaply and bowl a good line and length to give their batsmen a chance.
