This year's roster of titles that will be featured in the annual Evolution Championship Series has been recently unveiled. The tournament this year features an impressive line-up of games including several new titles that will join the event for the first time since it began in 1996.

The complete EVO 2015 lineup includes:

  • Ultra Street Fighter 4
  • Marvel vs. Capcom 3
  • Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
  • Guilty Gear Xrd
  • Killer Instinct
  • Mortal Kombat X
  • Persona 4 Arena Ultimax
  • Super Smash Bros. Melee
  • Tekken 7

Among the titles in the lineup, "Tekken 7" and "Mortal Kombat X" are the new games that will debut in the annual electronic sports event.

NetherRealm Studios' "Mortal Kombat X," set to be released on April 14, will be played using its console editions. Meanwhile, the upcoming fighting game "Tekken 7" from Bandai Namco Games will be played using the arcade machine since the game publisher still has to reveal the official release date of the game's console editions.

The EVO 2015 Championship Series, previously known as the Battle of the Bay, was founded by Tom "Inkblot" Cannon, Joey "MrWizard" Cuellar, as well as Tony "Ponder" Cannon. The tournament utilizes the double elimination format, wherein players from all over the world travel to battle against each other in different fighting video games. Most of the delegates, however, come from Japan.

Although the current lineup proves to be very interesting, some EVO players and observers were disappointed to find out that the classic "King of Fighters XIII" combat game will not be included this year. The game is one of the most exciting inclusions in the EVO finals back in 2012, which is why the game's absence this year could make a big impact.

The EVO 2015 Championship Series is scheduled to be held from July 17 to 19 at the Bally's Paris Convention Hall in Las Vegas, Nevada.
