Father of teenager executed by ISIS 'kills 7' of the terrorist group's militants in revenge
An Iraqi man reportedly killed seven Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants at a checkpoint in Tikrit, Baghdad to avenge his teenage son after he was executed by the group on allegations of spying.
The 60-year-old is reported to have grabbed an AK-47 to attack the militants but was shot dead after his short-lived assault.
The man, identified as Basil Ramadan, was the father of 18-year-old Ahmed Ramadan, a college student who was killed by ISIS security forces along with seven other men believed to be police officers spying for the Iraqi government.
Photos of the execution entitled "The Day of Judgement" were posted online last January and showed eight men blindfolded, dressed in prison uniforms, handcuffed, held by the neck and being led to their deaths by ISIS members.
The prisoners were also seen wearing microphones leading authorities to believe that they were interviewed for the video prior to the execution.
The photos show that the prisoners were forced to their knees while an ISIS officer stands behind them with a pistol, waiting to take aim. Each man was killed with a bullet to the head.
After the deed, the security officers even posed for photos as if to celebrate their accomplishment.
Ramadan died along with two others named Captain Hossan Bnosh and Marwan Habib Said, who were allegedly caught providing information for possible ISIS targets.
This was not the first time Ramadan lost a son to terrorism as another one was slain by al-Qaeda in 2007, according to reports by The Mirror.
ISIS recently released a video entitled A Message to the Government of Japan in which a man dressed in black stands behind Japanese journalist Kenji Goto, armed with a sharp knife before beheading the captive.
Goto was captured by the ISIS in Syria after he entered the country to rescue fellow Japanese national Haruna Yukawa, who was also captured and killed by the group.
Following their deaths, the Japanese government condemned the killings and vowed not to succumb to terrorists and instead bring ISIS to justice.
