Los Angeles is about to fall under the hordes of man-eating undead in the upcoming episode of AMC series "Fear the Walking Dead."

In "So Close, Yet So Far," AMC reports that the great city is about to succumb to the rise of the zombies. Amid all the confusion, Travis (Cliff Curtis) will do a very dangerous thing by venturing out to find his son. Will he be able to locate the boy without encountering the undead along the way? His son has certainly chosen the wrong time to get lost in such a big city. Will Travis be able to find him in time?

Meanwhile, Travis' girlfriend Madison (Kim Dickens) will also have her hands full trying to help her own son. Nick (Frank Dillane), a confirmed drug addict, is suffering from a crippling withdrawal. His mother is doing her best to make the ordeal easy for him, but only Nick can help himself if he wants to be free of the debilitating effects of the substance.

To say that the premiere kept the viewers on the edge of their seats was an understatement. The episode opened with Nick waking up in an abandoned church after getting hit by a car. The rest of the troubled Bennett family was also introduced, while Maddie got the call informing her of her son's accident.

At the hospital, Nick was delirious, sprouting incoherent words like "blood" and "zombie." What he was trying to say was that he got hit by the car while fleeing from bloodthirsty zombies, but the police obviously did not believe him. When Maddie arrived, she told the officers to either arrest her son or leave.

Later in school, Maddie would hear an ominous confession from a troubled student. The kid was dropping hints about the strange happenings across the country, but did not elaborate exactly on what it was. When Travis heard of what happened to Nick, he set out to find the church where the boy was found. All he found was a junkie hiding in the shadows.

Meanwhile, Nick vanished from the hospital. Travis and Maddie traced a friend who could help them locate the drug addict. All over Los Angeles, strange things were happening. Choppers were constantly hovering, as if in search of something. Posters of missing persons were cropping up. After a video of a police shooting went viral, school was cancelled abruptly.

Elsewhere, Nick managed to shoot his friend on the chest after a skirmish involving drugs. The episode ended with Travis and Maddie witnessing the teenager rising from the dead.

"Fear the Walking Dead" episode 2 airs Sunday, Aug. 30 at 9 p.m. EST on AMC.
