"Fear the Walking Dead," the highly-anticipated "The Walking Dead" spinoff, will focus on a problematic family. This family won't be stressing on walkers trying to eat them though. Instead, the teething troubles to be dealt with in the new show will come from the complications of the household.

The show follows Travis and Liza, who recently got divorced. They had a son named Christopher, who isn't liking the idea of his father with another woman, who here is named Madison. What he hates more is the fact that his dad is forcing him and his mom to blend them with that new family.

Travis, who is an English teacher in "Fear the Walking Dead," is played by Cliff Curtis. In a chat with Yahoo, the actor described him as a "good man." The way he described him though felt like he is another Rick Grimes.

"As the group's patriarch, he is protective, pragmatic and resolute in his conviction that anything can be fixed. He maintains a relationship with his ex-wife and resentful son while trying to become a father to Madison's children," he described.

Madison, played by Kim Dickens, also has the makings of a leader. After all, she works as a school guidance counselor. AMC describes the "Fear the Walking Dead" heroine as being "quick to make the hard choices that will keep her family alive."

Until "Fear the Walking Dead" premieres, fans wouldn't know if the hostile families will share the same fate as Rick and the group. With everyone unfriendly with each other, that isn't hard to imagine.

As what executive producer Dave Erickson teased to Variety, "Fear the Walking Dead" is a "family drama, and then there were zombies." It is unknown when the epidemic will turn people into zombies or how quick the walkers will degenerate.

"Fear the Walking Dead" will premiere on August 23.
