One of the most popular sports games, "FIFA 17," will have its cover star decided by the fans, according to reports.

Forbes has pointed out that EA Sports released images of four players directly marketed as the "FIFA 17" game's primary athletes. These players are Real Madrid C.F.'s James Rodriguez, Manchester United's Anthony Martial, Chelsea FC's Eden Hazard, and Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus.

Fans thought that the four athletes will be sharing the "FIFA 17" official cover, and rumors of it began spreading like wildfire over the internet. However, it turns out that these stars will compete against each other in order to become the game's cover athlete. They are subject to a global cover vote that started on July 5 and will end on July 19.

Fans can vote for their favorite athlete once a day by accessing the "FIFA" Cover Vote website, sign in using their EA account, and click on the portrait of their pick. If they want to earn extra votes, they can auto-share the hashtag #FIFA17CoverReward. Also, the more they vote, the more chances of them winning a "FIFA 16" Ultimate Team reward. For example, players can grab a three-match loan item or even a gold pack just by voting more often.

Last year's cover star was Lionel Messi, along with the player representative of the domestic league for the country where the game is released. For example, in the U.K., this was Jordan Henderson from the Liverpool team.

As for the "FIFA 17" game itself, the game will use the Frostbite engine. This engine has gained a lot of traction due to the fact that EA games is promoting it. Furthermore, it was rumored to give more realism levels of the game, without compromising the the presentation. With this, the game is expected to maintain its levels of spectacularity once it gets released by Sept. 29.
