'Final Fantasy 15' news: New scans reveal how the game's magic system works

New scans of "Final Fantasy 15" show fans that the upcoming role-playing game (RPG) title may have some new features that could drastically affect gameplay.

The new scans coming courtesy of Twitter user @kazu4281 were also shared by Games Talk. The scans touch on several aspects of the game, including its magic system.

The new pictures show that "Final Fantasy 15's" magic system may be more nuanced than before.

Instead of players being able to just hit enemies with the spells they cast, there's now a chance that their allies and the surroundings can be affected as well.

In one of the scans, the player is shown casting a fire spell on a grassy area, and instead of only affecting the enemy, the fire spreads throughout the greenery and even damages the friendly characters.

With this added layer of nuance being appended to "Final Fantasy 15's" magic system, players will now have to make sure that they take their surroundings into account before doing anything significant or they may end up doing more harm than good.

According to Techno Buffalo, the latest scans also show that robotic pieces of armor that look somewhat similar to Magitek suits will be included in "Final Fantasy 15."

Magitek suits have made previous appearances in the "Final Fantasy" franchise, most notably in "Final Fantasy 6."

It's unclear exactly how the Magitek suits will figure into the gameplay of "Final Fantasy 15," although more details about that could be released soon.

The latest scans show that players may also be able to initiate combat in different ways inside the game.

The scans indicate that it may be possible for players to leap at their opponents to catch them off guard, and it may even be possible for players to avoid combat altogether by sneaking around their foes.

No official release date has been announced for "Final Fantasy 15" as of now, although the RPG title is expected to be launched sometime this year.
