"Final Fantasy 15" is a "synthesis" of the classic aspects of the beloved game series and modern elements, according to director Hajime Tabata.

In a behind-the-scenes video chronicling the decade-long development of the long-awaited action role-playing game, Tabata revealed that the mixture of old and new made the title into "the ultimate Final Fantasy" experience.

Tabata added that developer Square Enix "[poured their] heart and soul" in putting together "Final Fantasy 15." Working on it for 10 years, the game director emphasized how the game helped them obtain "personal growth."

"To take risks and challenge yourself and the genre as a whole... it's really allowed me to grow," Tabata said. He added that it helped a lot that majority of his team were genuine fans of "Final Fantasy" who knew the franchise very well and what the title should look like.

"Final Fantasy 15" has been making gamers wait for a decade now, but in a matter of months, fans will reap the rewards of their unflagging patience and will finally get their hands on the game this September.

Prior to the release of the title, gamers will learn more about its story in a movie titled "Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy 15," which already looks amazing judging by the newly-released screenshots.
