The "Final Fantasy 7" remake wasn't at the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016 last week simply because the game is not ready for a showing just yet.

Game director Tetsuya Nomura revealed in an interview with Famitsu (via Attack of the Fanboy) that the "Final Fantasy 7" remake is still in its embryonic stage and far from its final state.

Nomura promised that solid details about the "Final Fantasy" game won't come around anytime soon, but he urged fans to keep their eyes peeled for the remake.

The game director assured fans won't have to worry about the "Final Fantasy 7" remake as the development for the game is going steady.

He also promised that he will be breaking the news about big progress in the game as soon as they hit them. Fans hope that details about the title will at least be ready by next year.

The year 2017 marks the 20^th anniversary of the original "Final Fantasy 7" game. There won't be a better time to share new information about the remake than the momentous occasion.

The "Final Fantasy 7" remake will be released in an episodic format, which means that there will be multiple episodes to be released, making for a full-scale title, much like "Final Fantasy 13." There are rumors that the first episode will be out next year, but this may not be likely.

"In '13,' each installment told the story from a different angle. It was kind of like approaching an unknown territory in a sense," "Final Fantasy 7" remake co-producer Yoshinori Kitase told Game Informer.

Whereas with 'Final Fantasy 7 Remake, we already have a preexisting story, so it wouldn't really make sense if that isn't encompassed in a multi-part series. So if we're just looking at each of these parts, one part should be on par with the scale of one 'Final Fantasy 13' game," he went on to say.
