In what looks to be an attempt to create further excitement for their upcoming action role-playing video game, "Final Fantasy XV," Square Enix has just recently announced a brand new mobile game spin-off titled "King's Knight: Wrath of the Dark Dragon" set to be released for Android and iOS.

The company made the announcement during their Active Time Report at the recently held 2016 Tokyo Game Show.

The game itself is totally free to download and play when it is released. It features an RPG arcade style gameplay that is set in the "Final Fantasy XV" universe. The game is also the successor to the classic 1986 game titled "King's Knight." Players will be able to form their own team of four characters who must set off on an adventure to defeat an unknown enemy. The game will include characters such as wizards, knights, and even lizard men called the Gigant.

As of the moment, not much is known about the mobile game, but Square Enix had mentioned that it was meant to be a tribute to the classic 30-year old title that was originally released on the NES console. The original game itself was developed when the company was still called Square Co., Ltd. and featured classic theme songs composed by Nobuo Uematsu.

Aside from the new mobile game, the franchise's anime mini-series — titled "Brotherhood of Final Fantasy XV" — is also set to get its fifth episode very soon. The series itself will be centering on the main characters of the upcoming game, and the latest episode will focus on Noctis' childhood.

"Final Fantasy XV" is set to be released worldwide on Nov. 29 and will be available on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

"King's Knight: Wrath of the Dark Dragon," on the other hand, will also likely be released during the same time.
