There hasn't been much news about "Final Fantasy XV," although fans know Square Enix is hard at work in finishing the much-awaited title. Thankfully, the game studio dropped a new screenshot from the game showing the deadly and grotesque Malboro in all its glory.

These monsters are intimidatingly huge but this isn't the asset that makes everyone terrified of these extra-large creatures. They're colored green and have tentacles that can extend in almost all directions. Finally, they have large mouths that elicit Bad Breath, which never fails to kill.

The particular screenshot was said to have been taken from a gameplay footage that featured a Malboro battle set in a marshy valley. This clip was initially presented at the recently-concluded Gamescom event.

There's still no release date for "Final Fantasy XV." Even at the Gamescom, Square Enix shied away from dropping hints on when players will finally get their hands on the latest iteration of the acclaimed role-playing video game.

However, there should be new information spilling at the PAX Prime event, where Square Enix will be delivering another Active Time Report. While the game studio seems to be putting the release date tightly under wraps, it never slowed down in assuring fans that the upcoming game will be worth the wait.

In a recent interview with Metro, "Final Fantasy XV" director Hajime Tabata revealed his visions for the game.

"While I'm making the game I'm always thinking that after we release XV I hope that becomes number one!" he said. "Everyone has their own favorite Final Fantasy game, but I really want as many people as possible to, when I release the game, to say, 'Yeah, XV was the best!' That's my favorite!"

To pull it all off, Tabata admitted that it involves a lot of work, which of course, his team would love to get done.

"The things that we're really putting a lot of emphasis on, that we really value in the development of 'Final Fantasy XV,' is that I believe it really has to have the best technology that we can put in there. And have that support the best possible game experience," he explained.
