'Final Fantasy 15' release date out in March 2016, Regalia video out

Square Enix announced during their presentation at this year's PAX Prime event that "Final Fantasy XV" will be released sometime in 2016. However, according to IGN, a more specific release window won't be announced until they launch a special event in March next year.

During the PAX Prime presentation, the company revealed that "Final Fantasy Versus XIII" was roughly a quarter done when the development team turned it into "Final Fantasy XV" three years ago. "Final Fantasy Versus XIII" was first unveiled back at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2006 and was meant to be a part of the "Fabula Nova Crystallis" universe alongside "Final Fantasy XIII."

Director Hajime Tabata explained that when the decision came to change the game into "Final Fantasy XV," the team took the game apart and took off some portions that would no longer make sense. However, there are still portions in the final product that came from its original state as "Versus XIII" but Tabata did not cite any specific examples.

Since there won't be any release date information until next year, Tabata instead launched a new trailer which focuses on the game's vehicle, the Regalia. Players can manually use the car and drive as they would in any other video game, or set it to auto wherein they can switch to different camera angles such as the Joyride View, Driver View, and Scenic View. Players can also select an auto-valet feature to find a parking spot.

However, the use of the Regalia is limited as it runs on gas. Gamers will have to find a gas station before the Regalia runs out of fuel. If it does, then the passengers will need to hop out and manually push it to the closest gas station. There is also an option to call for help in order to refill the tank, although this may cost additional in-game money.
